Penglipuran is from "pengeling' and "pura". It means remembrance of the ancestors. Penglipuran traditional village is located in kelurahan Kubu, kabupaten Bangli, Bali. The location is very strategic, 45 km from Denpasar.

Every houses in this village have the same doors called 'Angkul - Angkul'. Every house are similar than others. Penglipuran village really appreciate culture. This village ever got Kalpataru award in 1995 because people in this village maintain 75 hectare bamboo forests and other vegetation. Not only that people also maintain culture and traditional buildings.
